The St. Andrew's Society of the River Plate English Conversation Group started to fill the need of those who want not only to practise the spoken language, but also to socialise in a friendly atmosphere. The people in charge are all volunteers as St. Andrew's Society of the River Plate is a non-profit organization.

All those interested in practising their English can join us every Friday from 6.30 to 9.00 pm. At 8 o' clock there is a tea-break but everybody continues talking over a cup of tea or coffee. While there are many institutes where you can practise reading, writing, grammar and listening here you will have the change to interact and socialise with your peers while you practise the spoken language in a relaxed atmosphere.

The fee is only $5 per Friday. Newcomers are welcome.

scottish country dancing

The St. Andrew's Society of the River Plate Scottish Country Dance Group was recently formed, although the SASRP taught Scottish country dancing previously. The Group is a branch of the local St. Andrew's Society (hence the name), a non-profit-making organisation. Its headquarters are in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Most of the present members of the Group are of Argentine nationality. We are mostly descendants of British and Irish families, although there are those with Italian, Spanish or other ancestry.
St. Andrew's Society of the River Plate Scottish country dance group meets regularly every Friday from 7.00 to 9.00 pm to learn and practise Scottish country dances under the coordination of Luz Castilla Aguilar. The group consists of mostly young people but everybody is welcome no matter their age. The atmosphere is friendly and lively. The idea is that everybody enjoys themselves dancing. We want people to unwind and enjoy themselves to the rhythm of lively jigs and reels, or the more relaxed dances like Strathspeys. The fee is only $8 per Friday, and everyone is welcome. You are welcome to come and join us.
