The first Caledonian Ball was held in 1848, when the 6th Duke
of Atholl gave a ball in London to raise funds for Scottish charities.
Since then the Caledonian Ball has become an annual event.
In Argentina the first Caledonian Ball was held in 1924, as a
gala Scottish party for adults at which the custom of Scottish
Country dancing was introduced. During this event, the Scottish
Country Dance competition takes place and Bronze, Silver and Gold
medals are awarded to the winning eightsomes. The SASRP Pipe Band
puts on shows for everyone to enjoy.
