Song Dance and Verse Festival

Welcome to the St. Andrew's Society of the River Plate's Song Dance and Verse Festival page!
The festival continues to ensure that songs, dances and poems, representative of Scottish historical and cultural tradition, are introduced to the people of Argentina and furthermore, to South America.
The Song Dance and Verse Festival is held over a period of 3 Saturdays around August/September and is a competition for children and young people in which Scottish Songs, Dances and Verses are evaluated. Medals and Trophies are awarded at the Final Session. In Argentina, the first Singing and Dancing Competition was held in 1909.
The St. Andrew’s Society of the River Plate Song, Dance and Verse Festival has been running for many years and is established as a highly regarded and popular educational event.
